The Different Types Of Hydroponic Systems And Their Parts
Agriculture is considered to be one of the main activities practised by most people either directly in their farms or indirectly through the processes of processing and manufacturing different agricultural products in different factories Agriculture as an independent sector is taken as a base of many economies with the agricultural products being grown used for either exports or consumption. Many countries that are established and developed have a firm agricultural base which tends to meet the needs of various individuals in those economies. Different economies can specialize in different forms of agriculture greatly depending on the available resources within the economy. Plants grow in totally different soils and climatic conditions, it is essential that we reconsider the type of plants which we want to grow. Hydroponics is one of the most trending economic activity that has been adapted and practised by most economies with the aid of technology.
Hydroponics is generally a subset of hydroculture which involves the growing of plants using different mineral nutrient solutions that are found in water solvents without the use of soil. Various terrestrial plants may be grown with the their roots being exposed to the solution. The nutrients that are used in this type of agricultural practice are from duck manure, fish waste or normal nutrients. The basic parts which we will require so as to build hydroponic systems are the growing chambers, submersible pump, reservoirs, simple timers, delivery systems, air pumps and grow lights. There are six main types of Hydroponic systems that are commonly used include; water culture, wick system, Aeroponics, drip system, ebb-flow and the Nutrient Film Technique.
Aeroponics as a type of hydroponics generally involves the process of keeping roots of various terrestrial plants in environments which are saturated with some drops of various nutrient solutions. Aeroponics does not need a substrate since it basically entails the growing of different plants while suspending their roots in different deep air or growth chambers. The fact that this method has excellent aeration makes it to qualify as one of the best hydroponic system.
Ebb-flow systems can be rated as some of the most common hydroponic systems that can be done at home. This system can be constructed easily using any construction material that may be laying around. The drip system is the most common type of hydroponic system used by many farmers around the world. It is not a hard concept that requires only few parts yet proved to be versatile and effective. Here people just drip nutrient solutions on different plant roots so as to keep the roots moist.
Hydroponics is a good agricultural practice used by different farmers in different economies. Hydroponic has become of the most adapted type of agriculture which uses some mineral nutrient solutions which originate from water solutions.
